A Leopard Never Changes Its Spots

Gender ideology could be compared to a Hydra – a mythological creature, which, if you cut off one of its heads, immediately grows two new heads in its place.

This has been witnessed through last week’s announcement that Susie Green, the former longstanding CEO of Mermaids, is now joining private gender clinic, GenderGP.

What unifies both of these organisations is the explosion in safeguarding concerns to emerge over recent times.

However, what Susie Green and GenderGP are planning to do with their newfound partnership should be of concern to us all.

Who is Susie Green?

Up until recently, Susie Green was the CEO of Mermaids, a role she acted in for over 6 years.

She is most infamous for admitting taking her 16-year-old son to Thailand for him to receive “gender affirmation surgery”, on the basis that it was illegal to offer such surgery in the UK.

In a TedTalk, she spoke of her son supposedly telling her, aged 4, that “god has made a mistake and I should have been a girl”. From the age of 7, her son was being ‘treated’ at the now-disgraced Tavistock.

She is also said to have previously joked about her young son’s genitals, prior to having his penis removed, saying they were underdeveloped so “not much to work with”.

Green has previously said that puberty blockers are “totally reversible” – a claim that is factually inaccurate.

She was at the helm of Mermaids during significant safeguarding breaches, which I have detailed below.

She has also sat on the group responsible for revising the Standards of Care for the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). In the most recent Standards of Care, Version 8, they decided to:

  • Remove all age limits for children to receive puberty blockers, hormones and surgery. Double mastectomy and vaginoplasty should be considered for children.

  • Promote breast binding and genital tucking.

  • Remove parental involvement from decision-making, when deemed “unnecessary”.

  • State that therapy or counselling should never be mandatory before medical intervention.

  • Afford official ‘gender’ status to ‘eunuchs’, who seek castration.

Who are Mermaids?

Mermaids are a charity, established in 1995, with the stated ambition of “helping gender diverse kids and their families”. They have managed to gain a significant amount of influence over the years, including regularly being involved in government consultations. They run a helpline, chat room, training course, podcast and numerous public campaigns.

However, significant concerns have been raised regarding Mermaids and the safeguarding of vulnerable children. These have included:

  • Hosting residential weekends for children, in which young girls were provided with breast binders. One Mermaids’ worker described the experience of watching a girl try on a breast binder as making their “queer heart soar”.

  • Mermaids’ moderators offering to send out breast binders to young girls, via their online forum, behind parents’ backs.

  • Providing inaccurate medical advice to parents, advising them that “hormone blockers are reversible”.

  • Their podcast, ‘She Said, They Said’, which has pushed misinformation and indoctrination onto children. Some of the most worrying quotes from this show have included:

    • Trans people are art personified”.

    • Parents should be “supportive” of their trans children, so as not to make them “homeless”.

    • Being fluid with gender can never be the wrong thing to do”.

    • “Family isn’t blood” and children should create a “misgendering jar” at home, so that they can “monetise pain”.

    • A guest to the podcast discussing their “femme pants” and “inner sex siren”.

    • Telling children that if they come out as ‘trans’ they can “help humanity” and “make the world a better place”.

    • “There are men who have ovaries and women who have prostates – it’s just science”.

    • Puberty blockers are “fully reversible” but “natural puberty isn’t”.

  • Partnering with, and accepting donations from, sexualised drag acts and explicit OnlyFan accounts.

  • Partnering with Munroe Bergdorf, who previously said that “all white people are racist”.

  • Telling children that “a war against trans people rages”.

  • Trustee, Dr Jacob Breslow, being forced to resign after giving a presentation for an organisation with aims to promote an “understanding about people...with an attraction to children”.

Susie Green oversaw every single one of these monstrosities.

Mermaids have also taken LGB Alliance to the Charity Commission to try and have their charitable status revoked. However, the painful irony is that Mermaids now find themselves at the receiving end of a formal statutory investigation by the Charity Commission, following the significant safeguarding concerns raised against them.

Mermaids’ response, rather than to engage in reflection and humility, was to accuse the rest of society of engaging in “attack…hate…and transphobia” against them.

What is crucial to emphasise is that there is evidence suggesting that Mermaids was often used as a gateway towards Gender GP, with Susie Green and other Mermaids’ staff signposting the gender clinic to parents and children.

In the aftermath of the statutory investigation announcement, Susie Green resigned as CEO. However, for new CEO, Lauren Stoner, it appears to be business as usual. Since her appointment, there has been no mention of the safeguarding abuses that took place within the organisation. Upon asking Stoner a question about misleading information put online, she promptly blocked me on Twitter. Make of that what you will.

Who are Gender GP?

GenderGP are a private gender clinic, offering medical transition to children and adults. It was originally set up by husband-and-wife duo, Helen and Michael Webberley, in 2015.

From inception, they have been embroiled in scandal.

In 2018, Helen Webberley was convicted of illegally running an unregistered clinic, while treating 1,600 children from her home in Wales. For this, she received a fine and suspension. Webberley was found to have been “motivated by efforts to avoid the regulatory framework of the UK”.

She subsequently moved GenderGP to Spain, where she began living.

In 2022, Michael Webberley was struck off the medical register for misconduct. This followed a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) panel finding a number of charges proved against him relating to failing to provide good clinical care to 7 patients between February 2017 and June 2019. These patients included a 9-year-old and a teenager who later took their own life.

The tribunal found that he had “acted outside the limits of his expertise” and without the necessary qualifications or training.

Helen Webberley was suspended by the General Medical Council, after they found her fitness to practice impaired because of “serious misconduct” and putting patients at “unwarranted risk of harm”.

Even after this utter disregard for safeguarding and care towards vulnerable children, GenderGP still continues to practice and offer medical transition to children.

Even though Helen Webberley has been suspended from the medical register, she still continues to front GenderGP, often putting out publicity material on its behalf.

She recently wrote that she felt “absolutely stoked” when WPATH dropped the age restrictions on children receiving hormones or surgery (see further above).

She has stated that damage caused by delayed puberty from puberty blockers should be mitigated by progressing with cross-sex hormones as quickly as possible.

She previously re-tweeted a statement, which read: “being trans is cool as shit. Jump in, fuck it, what do you have to lose?”.

It is clear as day that GenderGP are a danger to children.

Why Should We Be Concerned?

Last week, in a Twitter announcement flanked by red siren emojis (which is particularly ironic), GenderGP announced that they were “incredibly excited” to be welcoming Susie Green to the organisation.

Green said she was looking forward to being able to “continue the work that means so much to me”.

It goes without saying, in light of the above, that as far as vulnerable children are concerned, this is a match made in hell.

However, the specific project that Green and GenderGP are joining forces on is of the greatest concern.

They have set up a crowdfund, which they say will be the first of its kind in the world. The fund will be for ‘trans’ kids to be able to access private medical transition, where they are unable to obtain this on the NHS.

The crowdfund itself engages in wild hyperbole, scaremongering and vitriol, stating that “transgender people are under attack” and that there are “bigots trying to eradicate trans people”.

They are initially seeking to raise £30,000.

Over recent times, we have witnessed some positive movement as regards the NHS. We have seen the shutting down of the Tavistock and are waiting for the full Cass Report.

However, this joint venture between Green and GenderGP increases concerns that, even if the NHS take an approach centring around safeguarding children, parents and children will simply side-step this and go directly to GenderGP to start down a slippery slope towards medical transition.

The gender ideology movement continues to be controlled by a few core individuals, all of whom seem hell-bent on pursuing their agenda, regardless of the cost.

While organisations like Mermaids and GenderGP continue to exist, our children cannot be safe.

James, I am sure we will discern a pattern of reinvention as the bad actors find new platforms. I do hope that Jamie Reed's whistle blowing in St. Louis in the States will encourage others to come out, as there are more. Link below to first in a series of interviews between me and Jon Uhler, a professional expert on the cult and the narcissists.
